We are a proud new organization under the Family Promise/IHN program. We serve the Rockdale/Newton county area in Georgia.

We now have 12 host congregations who are committed to the program so far, including: Epiphany Lutheran Church in Conyers, St. Pius Catholic Church in Conyers, Smyrna Presbyterian Church in Conyers, Life Church in Conyers, Conyers 1st United Methodist Church, Rockdale Baptist Church, Rockdale Alliance Church, Allen Memorial Methodist Church in Oxford, Milstead Baptist Church, Conyers First Baptist Church, Trinity Baptist Church, and our newest host church. We also welcome our first official Support Congregation, Grace United Methodist of Covington, who will be working with Allen Memorial Church. Meet our new Coordinator!
Erin comes with a good skillset so she should do a great job running our monthly core meetings in the future. More importantly she has worked in the area of disadvantaged children for the last several years specializing in working with local agencies, government organizations and parents as an advocate.
The board and some of the coordinators met with Claas Ehlers, the executive Director of Family Promise. He reviewed our status and told us that our November 13 kick off date was conservative. He said we should easily be ready by then. We will look to begin training of coordinators in mid October. Churches need to start building their internal calendars of “blackout” dates, prior to training. the one area he said we were short on is in our board members, he said we should have at least 10 if not the full 15. Attached is a form for nominations, please pray over and help us to find folks with God’s strength and our purpose at heart and consider serving for three years.
